In this Photoshop tutorial we will create a watercolor/pastel type look in just a few minutes

Create a 1920×1080 document with 72 resolution
Unlock layer and press shift and F5, change fill to 50% gray
Go to filter-filter gallery, then artistic
Choose Rough Pastels and enter the following settings:
Stroke Length :40
Detail: 1
Texture: Canvas
Scaling: 200
Relief: 50
Light: Bottom
Click Ok
Add a levels adjustment layer and slide the white point on the right to 136
Select both layers and press control G to group, rename to canvas
Go to file – place embedded to load the image you want to use for this effect.
scale appropriately and if it’s not a smart object already, right click on the layer and select convert to smart object.
Go to filter – filter gallery, click on the + icon and select paint daubs.
Set the brush to 6, sharpness to 20
click on the paint daubs layer and drag it under the rough pastels layer and click ok.
Make sure it’s a smart object….
Make a copy of the image layer by pressing control j and change the blend mode of the copied layer to luminosity.
Go to filter – filter gallery and select texturizer from the texture folder
Make sure it is set to canvas, scaling is 200 and relief is around 4 and light is top.
Click the eyeball next to paint daubs to hide it and then click ok.
Go to your layers adjustment and add a vibrance layer, set vibrance to +100 and move saturation to whatever looks best to you.
Next add a photo filters adjustment layer and change to a warming or cooling filter to whatever looks the best to you.
Click on the top layer, hold down shift and select the layer above the canvas layer and press control g to group, you can name this group main photo if you like.
Add a layer mask to this group, grab a brush (make sure it is black foreground color and start brushing around the edges to create a look of a border.
Go to file – save to save your work and print it out if you like.
That’s it, creating a watercolor look design in photoshop is pretty easy!
